Hi, my name is Liz and I am a fully qualified counsellor in Little Chalfont, Buckinghamshire, easy reach from the M25 and Chalfont and Latimer tube station. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and an accredited member of The Foundation For Infant Loss. I am also part of the Perinatal Counselling team at Hemel Hempstead hospital.
I understand being able to talk openly with a stranger about highly emotional areas of your life takes much courage and bravery. I am passionate about mental health and my clients well being. Sometimes we can struggle with difficult feelings, painful experiences or a sense of not being good enough. Trying to understand these feelings alone can be hard.
You may be thinking of seeking help or looking for someone to support your child. Finding a counsellor can seem like a daunting process. You are far from feeling alone like this.
I provide a confidential and professional environment for you to express, explore and understand your feelings and emotions. I bring warmth, empathy and a non-judgemental attitude.
For me, the quality of the therapeutic relationship is paramount for successful, meaningful and effective therapy. The heart of my work is for my clients to be heard, understood and supported.
Feeling stuck or struggling to understand your emotions? Or are you looking to get support for your child?
Whilst family and friends can be a good support, some people find it helpful to talk to a counsellor who is not personally involved.
You might be feeling overwhelmed and it's all just too much.
Finding a therapist can seem like a daunting process, where do I even begin? It is something new and often unknown. You've already taken the hardest step and started your search.
Counselling gives you the space and time to talk through any issues or concerns that you might have, with an unbiased and non judgemental professional.
Counselling gives you the opportunity to explore aspects of your life and yourself that you might not have explored before, in a safe and confidential environment.
Within the counselling room, you are able to discover the 'authentic' you, to overcome emotions or situations that have previously blocked your emotional growth and development. I help you unpack what is going on in your life and support you in making the changes you need.
I believe that therapy gives you the opportunity to understand more about yourself and your relationships with others and gives you the chance to look at your life and your circumstances through a different lens.
I believe that everyone has a natural drive towards contentment and fulfilment but there may be many obstacles and suffering along the way and sometimes these can be difficult to define and understand.
Therapy can help you to identify and understand more clearly the issues you are facing and so start to think differently and make positive changes to your life.
